At Words Plus, we work with toddlers (18 to 35 months) who develop spoken language more slowly than most, autistic children, and children who use or may benefit from AAC.

From consultations and assessments to therapy, caregiver coaching, and caregiver programs, we’ll help you find the support that’s right for your family.

Services are available in-clinic, in your home (within our service area), or virtually across Ontario.

Comprehensive Initial Assessment

Typically 90 minutes • $345

Every family’s journey begins with a comprehensive assessment.

We’ll get to know your child’s communication strengths, needs, interests, and everyday environments, while learning about your family’s priorities and goals. Following the assessment, you’ll receive individualized recommendations, a detailed written report, and a clear plan for next steps.

Assessments may include:

Parent/caregiver interview
Observation through play and everyday interaction
Informal and/or standardized assessment, as appropriate
Review of previous reports
Collaborative discussion of findings
Individualized recommendations and treatment plan

Assessments may be provided in-home, in-clinic, or virtually.

Subsequent Visits

In-Home Therapy with a Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA)
Your child works directly with a CDA, while a registered SLP stays closely involved behind the scenes. The SLP designs the therapy plan, monitors progress, and provides ongoing guidance to ensure your child receives safe, high-quality, evidence-informed support.

Flexible session options to suit your schedule and preferences:
60-minute sessions ($162)
45-minute sessions ($136)

Individualized Therapy with an SLP
Personalized, play-based and child-led therapy sessions are focused on achieving your child’s specific communication goals through joyful interactions and parent/caregiver involvement.

60+minute sessions (clinic, home, or online)
45-minute sessions (clinic or online)
30-minute caregiver-only telepractice sessions (online or telephone)

In-Home

WE COME TO YOU
We offer in-home services to nearby families for your convenience and naturalistic learning opportunities. In some cases, we can also meet your child in community settings such as daycares, private schools, libraries, or even parks. Speech therapy for kids can happen wherever they are. In-Clinic

YOU COME TO US
Words Plus has a home of its own! We’re proudly located downtown Oakville, within the Lakeshore Medical Group office. Visit us and have sessions in a playful, cozy environment dedicated to speech therapy for kids.

Online

ATTEND WITH A CLICK
Also known as virtual therapy or telepractice, our online sessions bring speech therapy to your home with the click of a button.
